To send outgoing emails from your FMS org—such as emails to contacts or leads—users must have a verified email address. This requirement enhances your org's security and helps reduce the risk of email spoofing and spam. In most cases, users verify their email addresses during the sign-up process. However, you can also manually initiate email verification for users if needed.

The email verification requirement applies to any user who sends emails through Salesforce. If a user sends an email from an unverified email address, Salesforce rejects the email message and doesn’t complete the send.
You can check a user’s email verification status by viewing the user’s details in Setup.
From the Users Setup page, select a user and check the Email field.
When the user’s email address is unverified, a Verify link appears next to it.
After the user completes verification, the Verify link changes to Verified.
Any user can review their own email verification status on the Advanced User Details page.
There are multiple ways to initiate email verification for your users. Regardless of the method, users will receive a temporary verification link sent to their unverified email address. The expiration time for the verification link varies based on how the verification process is initiated. If a user misses the opportunity to click the link before it expires, you can generate and send a new one.
To start verification for a single user,
Select the user from the Users Setup page.
Next to the user’s email address, click Verify.
The user will receive a verification link that expires after 72 hours.
Users can start verification themselves from the Advanced User Details page by
clicking Verify next to their email address.
They’ll receive a verification link that expires after 72 hours.
Certain actions can automatically verify a user's email address:
The user resets their password using a link sent to their email.
The user clicks a Chatter notification link received via email.
You can configure your organization to verify ownership of email-sending domains, eliminating the need to verify individual email addresses. With this setup, when a user sends an email from an unverified email address, Salesforce checks if the address belongs to a domain already verified using DomainKey Identified Mail (DKIM). If the domain is verified, the user’s email address is considered verified by extension, and the verification requirement is bypassed.
From the Deliverability page in Setup, enable Verify the ownership of email sending domains by DKIM keys.
